en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturnalia Just some info that shows it is not just Jehovahs Witnesses who educate ppl on the origins of Christmas and New Year celebrations Many times when I have tried to show how pagan this holiday is ppl refuse because the info was in our publications so maybe if you can see that it is easy to find on the internet I ask all who claim to be Christian...do you think Jesus is pleased with this holiday bearing his name? And even worse its supposed to be his birthday when his birth date has never been revealed not even by him Jesus gave his followers detailed instructions on how to live their lives and what to do to please his father Jehovah...who btw gets totally ignored they have even removed his name from HIS word ...the Jews did NOT celebrate birthdays ....only the pagan nations around them did so..Jehovah plainly told the Israelites they were to be separate from those pagan nations Their worship was to be clean and undefiled How can any good Christina in good conscience celebrate a holiday that is reaking with false worship of false gods..I think its up there in the top ten that Jehovah said we were not to worship anything or anyone but him...I feel ashamed of myself that I ever allowed myself to be sucked in...and its such a farce anyway Only ppl who have alot of money and alot of family enjoy this holiday and my thought is this shouldnt we give love gifts and of ourselves ALL year long..Jesus said his TRUE disciples would have love among themselves and I dont think he meant just one day a year...I see ppl struggling with depression and frustration because their holiday looks nothing like the glittering ones on TV..Its just sad
