The Chinese fencer Dong Chao won the epee fencing tournament, having defeated in the final Ruslan Kurbanov from Kazakhstan with the score of 16:10. Max Heinzer (Switzerland) and Tristan Tulen (Holland) won the bronze medals in the the epee fencing tournament. By the results of the third competition day of the Universiade, Russia leads in the medal table. The Russian national team has 43 medals: 19 gold, 9 silver and 15 bronze. South Korea takes the second place with five gold medals and one bronze medal. China completes the top-three with four gold, seven silver and three bronze medals.
