er...um...well, I guess we clearly cannot handle whelping 4 pups in 17 minutes. We usually take time between pups to study their markings and make copious notes and clean everything up while the momma cleans her newest baby and herself. Well, there was no time for that indulgence this time! And since then, these babies have been neglected, not by Mesa, not at all, but between the frantic whelpings and then all our attention yesterday on a very weak and sick baby, I just havent sat down and really gotten to know them, until day 2; this afternoon I took some time and sat down with them and Mesa and low and behold Beltran is missing..wait for it.....a penis! Yep, its Carla Beltran, I say with a red face. she was the second one, breach and huge and I remember saying, boy! here comes another one! Not sure what i saw other than another puppy flying out. Oh well, we needed a little levity- laugh is on us-have at it! New pics tomorrow with Beltran on a pink blankie.
