event info Himalayan Outdoor Festival is the brainchild of a passionate group of longtime climbers, trail runners, mountain bikers, and event managers based here in Kathmandu Valley. Our love for the spectacular rock faces and trails around Hattiban hills and our strong desire to share them with the world led to the creation of the epic adventure sports festival. Our undying enthusiasm, extensive experience, and commitment to nothing less than success is bringing this festival to life. The country’s first three-day celebration of human-powered adventure sports, music, and Himalayan lifestyle will be held from March 21st to 23rd, 2014 at the Hattiban hills overlooking the Kathmandu valley. Professional and amateur outdoor athletes from all over Nepal and around the world will converge upon the trails, rocks, and downhill slopes to compete in three main sports: trail running, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Numerous other activities will include the dyno competition, slackline competition, ice-axe pull-up, acrobatic paragliding show, flying fox, zip lines, rappelling, mud run, and auto expo. In addition to the adventure sports, the Himalayan Outdoor Festival will also include interactive exhibitions, discussions about pressing environmental issues, demo areas, vendors, a trade fair, live music, adventure films, and mountain-lifestyle parties.
