extrafabulouscomics/comic/69/ This speaks to me in many ways. Dispute what people think about me, I have not actually ever LARP-ed. But this comic can apply to much more than just LARP. For instance it can apply to my cosplaying hobby(cause its almost the same thing). Larping/ cosplaying for a long time was considered uncool and nerdy. I used to get made fun by people in school cause of my passion for dressing up as anime or superhero. My family was a little strange about it at first but they accepted in time. Im sure a few of my friends even found it strange. But I am truly happy when I am cosplaying. I love dressing up as character and sharing that joy with others like me. Ive made wonderful friends this way and have a wife and daughter who enjoy as much as me as well. And while I know this just a comic, I think it also says what some people are afraid to say. Some look at a distance and wish they could join us. But are to scared to. I will never feel ashamed for something I enjoy doing with friends or alone. Some will never understand why we enjoy hobbies like cosplaying, larping, making suits, making fan made movies. Its a wonderful way to show our love for something. And I wish others could see how truly free it feels to know this passion.
