This Greek word is from the Hebrew for “Mount Megiddo (Har-Megiddon).” The Valley of Jezreel and the Plain of Esdraelon lie at the foot of Mt. Megiddo, where many battles have been fought in the past. The city of Megiddo was important as it guarded one of the main entrances to the valley. E.
