fabulous update: I swam.... yes, a terminal woman with ALS/cancer, etc. decided to stop saying yes to everyone else and agreeing to others begin worried. I decided I wanted to be in water for my last chapter, whether an hour, a day week or ... I was cautious. (too many to list or of interest but.. tells just say I had a caregiver, my nieces, mom and in water! First in YEARS! I not only lived as i am as sick I ever (truly and some care provider, Dr. G and my hospice team- lol...sees this...and knows... well. that is just fine. I have my 9 lives! I never felt better. Ok.. yea, stayed by the side.... ducked taped zip lock bags over abdominal area, had little control of legs if movement of other occurred, and no real strength to swim, BUT i stay on or near the edge of 7 + ft area a feet away at likes. floated on back... moved enough to get to the edge and LIVED!!!! in a literal and figurative way.. A big deal for an previous athlete!!!!!! I swam... floated... live and had such fun with my nieces and yea a little more tired after, but NOT like I go to stand or walk normally. In fact it helped my fractured spine.... In the water I had NO pins and needles.... NONE! Anyway, happy tears streamed down my face... no big for most but I had to share that I was once more, me..more michele demeo than in a long long time!!!!
