facebook users take note! the wound is the gift. i met scott seekins {the illustrious minneapolis fly-fishing / snake-hunting / fine artist} at a garden party in seward the hot evening before the fourth of july. if you have seen him around town, he ususally carries a gallery of drawings and prints and photographs in his briefcase, and if you are lucky, he will patiently sit with you while you have a looksee. later that night he asked me to make his portrait for an ongoing series where he asks almost-strangers to take his picture whilst he holds a sign reminiscent of a white linened homeless man. i believe the last photographer he used was an eighty-five year old pedestrian. – we met the following week for a photograph {and a beer} in his usual lowry hill location.
