fotofoto gallery: 9th Annual Photography Competition Entry Deadline: 10/6/13 fotofotogallery.org/current-competitions/ REQUIREMENTS: Media Images - Minimum: 5, Maximum: 15 Total Media - Minimum: 5, Maximum: 15 Entry Fee (Foto Foto Gallery: 9th Annual Photography Competition): $40.00 Media Fee (per sample over minimum): $5.00 ELIGIBILITY The competition is open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, excluding members of fotofoto gallery. Any photographic medium including digital and alternative processes will be accepted. The maximum height or width of framed work cannot exceed 36 inches. Free-standing pieces cannot be accepted. SUBMISSIONS All entries must be submitted via the CaFE system, mail-in entries will not be considered. Images must conform to CaFE formatting standards, instructions can be found in the CaFE help section. FOR ACCEPTED ENTRIES Approximately 30 photographs will be chosen for a four week exhibition in December 2013. Shipping information will be provided to artists selected for participation upon completion of the jury process. To ensure the cohesiveness of the exhibition, we request that work be framed in a simple black or dark color with neutral museum quality mats (no colors please). AWARDS & SPONSORS Dr. Lewis will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Cash prizes -1st place $200, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50. ABOUT FOTOFOTO GALLERY fotofoto gallery was formed in 2003 by a group of fine art photographers desiring to create a center where photographic visions could be exchanged. Now in our tenth year, fotofoto gallery continues to be a place for the photographic community and students to view a wide range of photographic processes including traditional black and white, digital, experimental and alternative processes. The gallery hosts twelve exhibitions each year and reaches out to the community by providing invitational shows, workshops and lectures. The gallery is located in the heart of Huntington, New York and is open on weekends and by appointment. We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization. ABOUT THE JUROR David A Lewis, Ph.D, is a Professor of Art History at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he teaches courses in Modern European and American art as well as the history of photography. He has extensive experience as a curator and writer, and has organized many art exhibitions, including two recent exhibitions of contemporary photography - Rastlin,’ a Southern Survey: Photographs by David McClister, and Frank Dituri: ‘ Of Things Not Seen.’ Dr. Lewis has published interviews with Doug & Mike Starn, Donald Sultan, Sandy Skoglund, Jerry Uelsmann and Maggy Taylor, The Art Guys – Michael Galbreth and Jack Massing, and Mel Chin. He is currently curating an exhibition of Contemporary Texas Visionary Photographers for the Fotografia Biennale in Arezzo, Italy. FEES 5 images - $40. Image 6 -15 may be submitted for an additional charge of $5 per image. Please note: You must submit no fewer than 5 images.
