fq: FQ: My son has recently started to bang his head on things when he gets told no, or gets corrected (Please dont stand on that toy, you can fall and get hurt. We dont want to fall do we?). Hell bang his head on the wall, cabinets, the floor (hardwood, tile and carpet), toys, the baby gates, etc. Hes 21.5 months old. This didnt start until we moved into our new home (about a week ago). Im planning to call the pediatrician in the morning to see what they say/think. Im quite certain it has to do with him being frustrated/upset/mad and not knowing how to express it. When he does it, I tell him, No, sweetie. We dont bang our head. Then he starts crying like crazy. So Ill get him and hug him and tell him, Its okay to be upset/angry/mad/not like being told no. But we dont hit our head. We can get hurt. But I dont know what else to do. I know some people say that were just making it worse by giving him attention when he does it-- but Im truly scared hes going to hurt himself. Hes already left a bruise or two on his forehead from it. Any suggestions? rp by #k
