from David Tabaka On this Thanksgiving I am grateful for many things. I am grateful for all those who have been by my side and on my side, as well as those who are and were against me. I am grateful for all of the hope and hopelessness, all the joy and pain, the sunshine and rain, the tears and the laughter, the peace and the conflict, the rich and the ones in poverty, the success and the failure, those who see the truth and those blind to it, all that have hurt me and all that have helped me, all that have held my hand and all that have turned their back on me even when I needed it most, all that have walked with me and all that have run from me, all that have praised me and all that have tried to destroy me, all who have taught me and all that have made me learn for myself, all the feast and all the famine, all the good and the bad, all the selfish and the selfless, all the tortured, martyred and all those held in esteem, all the simple things and all the complicated things, all truth and all the secrets, all the miracles and all the coincidence, all the stars and all the darkness, all the light and the absence of light, all the space and all the substance, all the educated and all the dreamers, all the heroes and villains, all the blame and all the approval, all the helpful and all the helpless, all the flowers and all the weeds, all the water and all the rocks, all the storms and all the sunny days, all the cold and all the hot, all creatures great and small, all the difference and indifference, all the angels and demons, past indiscretions and new beginnings, those who have fought for us and those who have fought to not fight!, all the brothers and sisters, the mothers and fathers, the children and the elderly, the addicts and those clean, the proud and the meek, the balanced and the imbalanced, those angry and those happy, the protons, the neutrons, and the electrons, the elements, the air, the fire, the water, the earth, the confusion, the solution, the questions and the answers, the definitions and the undefinable, the beauty and the horror, the sports and the crafts, the mindful and the mindless, the blind and the visionaries, the creationists and the evolutionists, the quoted and the misquoted, the seekers and the finders, all races and creeds, the weight of the world and the wind beneath my wings, the crazies and the conformists, the weak and the powerful, the introverts and the extroverts, the glass houses and the brick houses, the mortals and the immortals, those who have gone before us and those still yet to come, the shacks and the mansions, the mountains and the valleys, the religious, the spiritual, and the lost, the vulnerable and the mighty, the enlightened and those still on the path, the dreamers and the believers, but most importantly those who understand this ever so simple equation... I am thankful for everyone right where they are and doing just what they need to do... This world and this universe will create balance no matter what we do. I am thankful that I am just a simple man, in a simple world, with simple solutions to what some people see as complex problems. John F. Kennedy said A rising tide lifts all boats We are the tide, and the tide is turning, I see it and feel it everyday... We are all connected, love it or hate it, the sentiment will be returned. Jesus said, Love thy brother as thy self, Ghandi said Be the change you seek and my favorite quote is from Albert Einstein, The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination I want to thank my heart for being able to see through all of this and my mind for giving me the insight to explain it... I am nothing without all of you and all these lessons I have learned from you. You are the greatest you that you can possibly be right now... Last of all I am thankful for the past and the future for giving us the greatest gift of all, the present... The gift that keeps on giving. We are all connected and we are all part of this universe. When we abolish fear, hate, greed, and vanity, this will be heaven on earth... There is only one other word I can think of if you take the word Earth and mix it up... Heart I Love you All. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Day of Gratitude! Share if you like...
