(from Joanne Anand) Dairy is the practice of artificially keeping cows perpetually pregnant and then doing this - taking away their babies when in reality cows are immensely maternal and grieve profusely when this happens. They keep people awake bellowing for days on end after we take their babies away. Am I really that extreme for finding and enjoying dairy alternatives these days? I mean... what could really BE more sinister than the practice of forcing pregnancy and then stealing each and every baby to be killed so we can have the babys milk? Im a mother and a mother supports other mothers. We dont inflict our worst nightmare on others for taste. Thats abysmal. Look - last night I had to tell my husband off for creeping downstairs and getting himself yet another bowl of my vegan chocolate peanut ice-cream. He admitted its the best ice-cream he has ever tasted and yet it contains zero dairy. I also enjoy yoghurts, cheeses and all kinds of plant and nut milks as well as yummy chocolate. We have alternatives to this so why must we keep inflicting this level of sickening emotional and physical cruelty on these grieving mothers? It is not the way to peace to support this practice. How can it be? This is heartbreaking to the extreme and yet we all accept it as common practice. Please open your mind and see what were doing here. Thank you.
