Some updates for you in this last week of October: Upcoming Schedule Notes for the Month 10/28 – Beginning of formal dress code; College visit from Mount St. Mary’s (NY) 10/30 – College visit from St. Thomas Aquinas 10/31 – Last day of 1st marking quarter 11/1 – College visit from Catholic University 11/4 – College visit from SUNY Maritime 11/5 – College visit from St. Peter’s; Election Day – School Open 11/6 – Report cards distributed; Open House 6-9pm; College visit from Sienna Academic Highlights Upper House - Seniors and Mr. Joe Russo, 79, are discussing political socialization, voter behavior, and the road to the presidency in Government. - The Juniors and Mrs. Marie Rosa are working on forming comparative and superlative adjectives in Latin. Lower House - Freshmen and Mr. Rolondo Lopez have studied elements of shape, form, and space that are used in artwork in Fine Arts, specifically looking at the works “The Cloud” and “The Adoration of the Shepherds.” - Sophomores and Mr. Brett Wierzbicki, 03, are beginning their study of 1984. He did a demonstration of “big brother watching” when Mr. John O’Brien, 01, Fr. James Kuroly, 98, and I all came to “observe” his class. Athletic Notes - The Soccer team and Coach Scharen take on Sacred Heart today as they seek to get their first win on their run to the playoffs. - On Saturday, Coach Gallagher and the Cross Country Track team ran in the BQCHSAA Championship. Senior Liam Gallagher led the team with a 5th place championship finish, and many pr’s. - Basketball season begins November 1st. Tryouts begin this Friday.
