from a fan. i work in a dual response system where the paramedics respond in a fly car and the EMTs respond in the ambulance we dont have priority dispatch so everybody responds to everything. on nights and weekends out BLS is primarily volunteer and because of that the corps are pretty much run however they want and very frequently we have the problem of too many cooks in the kitchen Ive had calls where weve had 2 cleared EMTs one provisional (who is trying to get cleared) and a driver. ill walk into a scene and nobody can decide who is in charge and the patient care suffers. unfortunately the corps wont fix the problem and only one out of the 4 volleys on my particular shift thinks this is a problem. id love to find a study or journal article proving that this too many cooks is a problem for patient care more then just my partner and i repeatedly trying to tell the corps captain what a problem it has become. Thanks in advance
