This will eventually have the effect of justifying driving the Mormons (some 10,000) from Missouri. 1873 Gunfight between “Rowdy Joe” Lowe and E.T. “Red” Beard: shotguns & pistols – West Wichita, KS. “Red” died of wounds two weeks later, “Rowdy Joe” left the county, (killed by Indians, Nebraska 1874). Between 1947 and 1953 as “Rocky Lane” in 30 “B” movies with his horse, Black Jack: Sundown in Santa Fe (1948), Hell Bent for Leather (1960), Posse from Hell (1961); the last two with Audie Murphy; later a television star and the voice of “Mr. Ed” (TV-1961).
