from the inbox: My fiancé is at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA and apparently cannot leave to get married unless he is phase 5 (for Army AIT...he is phase 4 now). For a marriage license in augusta, both parties have to be present..but he cannot get permission to leave base..even for a few hours. I called the clerk and there was no answer, so I left a message. Does anyone know, off hand, if they make exceptions for military personnel?? For instance...if I sign my part, bring it to base for him, then return it to the clerk. Any advice? Suggestions?
