#ftfrandondomact #lazydaysrvhunt Simply put, this was awesome for all of us. Back story, Liam was given some money a few months ago and was just asked to pay it forward. He decided he wanted to buy lunch or make dinner for a homeless person. We tried to find our favorite happy smiling guy for awhile but always seemed to miss him. Then, I got lazy and we stopped looking. :/ Next came the scavenger hunt. We talked again about doing a meal for someone. We also talked about donating new clothes to foster kids in the shelter. The kids threw out ideas about donating food to a church. All great ideas. We wouldnt get to see the recipients reaction though. Then Jay suggested we buy/give food or toiletries to a homeless person. Yes! I asked Liam if he would use his pay it forward money and he said yup! I posted to fb to see where the best sale on backpacks were for back-to-school. I fully intended to buy when our friend, Jamie, said she had two we can have. Yay! Then she also offered up toiletries from her couponing stockpile. How freaking cool! Ok. This is getting long. lol So, the kids picked out snacks and a blanket and a few other items at the store, assembled the bags and we set off. Right away, we found Valeree and her husband Johnnie. They were married 3 years ago on her birthday. She has worked this corner for 14 years and has been homeless for 20. We shared a very emotional moment. She was very grateful and gave great hugs. The kids were very happy to be able to help them. Jay was relieved we finally did it. All agreed we did a good thing today. :-)
