gains victory over the saints not because he has power over them, - TopicsExpress

gains victory over the saints not because he has power over them, but because he is versed in the art of subtility, deceit and trickery (Gen. 3). As a matter of fact, Satanic tricks are more powerful and deadly than satanic power. That’s primarily because the tricks of Satan catches you unaware. Let’s take a look at some of the other tricks Satan plays: MYOPIC FOCUS: He has won several times with this strategy especially in this overtly competitive age of the 21st century. The danger of this strategy is that it affects you in this life and in eternity. The game Satan plays here is to get you to focus only on the natural and material side of life. He gives you a myopic (short sighted) view of life. He ensures you forget that there is eternity and a day of reward and reckoning coming (2nd Cor. 5:10). Satan ensures that he makes the rating system of the world your rating system rather than making God’s rating system your standard. Thus, you start defining success the way the world defines success which is based on the number of cars, clothes and other material possession one has; the struggle to acquire these things and measure up to society standard consumes your heart, soul and thought process. At the end of the year and worse still at the end of your lifetime, you end up acquiring nothing of eternal value and nothing of eternal worth, thus making your life a wasted and spent life as against a life that was invested in the advancement of God’s agenda. Yes, you may have acquired loads of material possession but Satan has the last laugh because your life did not count significantly on earth and in eternity (Rev. 3:17). Worse still is the fact that you may end up in hell just like the example Jesus gave us in Matthew 25:24-30, about the man that was given a talent but he buried it in the ground. The Bible says he was cast into the outer darkness where there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. Don’t fall for this trick. Ensure that whilst you’re acquiring things in this life, remember that the only thing you will take out of this life is not the clothes, shoes, material possession, reputation or degrees. The only thing you will take out of this life are the works you did for Jesus (Rev.14:15), because ultimately that’s what counts. Subscribe now to get daily devotionals sent directly to you.
