getting exposed to too much light at night can disrupt your sleeping pattern, your body should start producing melatonin at night to get you ready for a sound sleep, if you sit in bright light, Tv or computer this pattern can get disrupted. Without enough melatonin it will be hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. Try putting on one low bulb at least 2 hours before bed time, allow very little light exposure, turn off bright screens and see if your sleep gets better.
