going to Bradford tomorrow for 3rd time to finish doing up cottage after last lot of Tenants "did a bunk" without telling us or paying their rent. The damage and mess they have done will hardly be covered by their bond, never mind that it should have been confiscated for leaving without notice of termination before period was up :-( The amount of "man-hrs" spent doing the work,travelling 50miles away each visit, fuel, materials, stress incurred is just not worth one months bond any-more. How can people do so much mess in a few months amazes me! It is so hard to get honest decent Tenants who will try and show some consideration to your property! All Tenants are informed not to amend/ alter/ repaint anything without prior permission 1st, yet we have had yet again, someone who has now made a "prison-like" grill over the kitchen window,nailed carpet grippers/staples into the Newish Laminate flooring, dirtied all the paint work on the walls,damaged wallpaper,pulled of curtain rail poles,changed locks and not used same holes and made extra holes in doors,added their own un-certified Electrics, left loads of mess in garden and garage, damaged the fence,totalled ruined grassed garden, ruined the bathroom blind. So many times I see Renters moaning about the Landlords "extortionist rents", but on top of the damage mentioned above,yet again I am still having to pay for an empty house costs of mortgage, Buildings Ins, Gas/elect/plumb/maintanance Ins, New Landlords Certificates etc with no income. I have no sympathy for people who think they pay high rents, they know nothing of what we have to put up with from many people before or after them, just because they think they are good clean Tenants, they think all the others are too- NOTTTT :-(
