good info for those of you who hate to see a doctor... a lesson learned!!! 2 days ago I burned my thumb.. it hurt a lot but no biggie I put on a band aid and didnt give it a thought. Ive suffered far worse before. Today I noticed my thumb was getting red so I put on some polysporin and a band aid. My mother comes for a visit around noon and says thats infected lets go see a doctor. NO WAY! Im fine, I say. Id be embarrassed to go in for a little burn. So she wont leave, of course.. gosh, mothers! And every once in while she says, Lets go! But, NOPE I wasnt going! She stayed.. and stayed.. she wasnt going anywhere until she wore me down and at 7:45pm tonight I went in but only because my thumb was rapidly getting larger and redder (Ill spare you all the gross photo.. *Youre Welcome*) and as soon as the doc sees my thumb she says, Oh my goodness, youre lucky youre here! That is an aggressive infection, thats very bad and if you waited until morning you would have been in a whole lot of trouble! She addressed the burn, gave me a tetanus shot and a prescription for antibiotics with strict orders to take a double dose immediately and get to the hospital if it spreads anymore. WoW! SO for those of you like me... dont take chances with an infection!!! Go see a doctor. And tonight Im a little freaked out but so glad I got one of those mothers who doesnt give up.. Yay Mom!
