*graphic* PSA I am going to go through a list of issue that affect intact female animals and show you very common and expensive problems that happen when you let your animals go without being spayed or neutered. Pyometra is when the uterus becomes filled with infection. Pus sometimes oozes out the back end. It is a life threatening condition. Sometimes a pyo can weigh up to 10lbs in your animals abdomen. 10 pounds of pus. When its removed it smells like we are removing a dead animal from your live one. Most animals are so sick they are septic and in extremely critical condition. Imaging you walking around with 10 pounds of smelly infection in your belly... A lyomyoma is a tumor that grows out of the vagina and size increases with every heat. This can cause a problem with urination, they can become very large and can get caught on something. If they are too big surgery is the only way to get rid of it plus a spay has to be done at the time so it doesnt return. Breast cancers can be eliminated 100% by spaying before first heat. After that with every heat a dog has chances of malignancy grows. An animal spayed after 2 that gets a breast tumor is almost guaranteed to have a malignant tumor. Cystic ovaries are painful if youve ever had one. Esp if they burst. Babies too large to be delivered. The baby will get stuck and die in the cervix killing everything behind it and most cases the mother too. The bodies decompose inside causing extreme infection. Prolapsed uterus happens most often during deliver but can happen during breeding pre or post heat. All of these things can be prevented by spaying your animal! Why would you risk any of this? If it happens to your pet because it was your choice to spay and you didnt you are 100% at fault for your sick animal. Be a responsible pet owner and spay your cats and dogs. Again this is all seen daily in most hospitals
