great day for me! thanks to Terry Colosi, Kathy Wentzel, and Marsha Wooten for breakfast, hanging out and our somewhat bizarre hike at the August Busch Conservation area...between the rifle range, the fishing and archery...not to mention the munitions bunkers that Ms. Wentzel and I found later, I feel that I can scratch this area off of my list....and that includes all 36 plus of those fishing lakes. but it was fun to get out on those gravel roads and smell a little dust...for me, kinda like being back in New Mexico but with camouflage and live bait, and pick up trucks and no mountains...... I do love a good squirrel bar that masquerades as a good old fashion biker bar with 16 oz PBRs at a discount. all in all, a great day for this chick and cranky Poco is home flat on his back, spread eagle and snoring. thanks ladies! hope to do it again and perhaps pick a little more interesting area...not sure I can ever trust the hiking book, ever, ever again..................
