had a scare this morning. i went to move the baby birds back to the step where the mom feeds them. i hang the bucket on this thing at night but ifit rains there is no protection. when i put them back on the step i accidentally scooted the bucket and both birds flew out. then they flew into the front yard by the road. it was tooo dark to see where they went. finally found them. they are still so tiny compared to their parents and cannot fly very far yet. their feathers are developing. by next week maybe they will be mature enough to really fly away. awhile back the daddy bird was no where to be found and it was just the mama bird feeding. well today when she found the nest was empty she frantically called the daddy. he came and they were together on the tree limb. but we got the birds back in the nest. thank goodness because they are still so tiny and vulnerable. and plus i live on a busy street.
