have a question for you all my son has a 1981 FXE Sturgis shovelhead With a belt driven primary witch i dont care for very much an after tonight he is not to keen on it well he left my house an got about a 1/8 of a mile an the belt snapped he coasted back an we pushed it in the driveway an he wasnt feeling well an went home so dad an step-mom took it apart got the old belt out cleaned up everything inside waiting on his friend to bring the spare belt by witch came with the bike when he bought it hmmmmm wonder why well belt hasnt shown up but not a big deal i notice you can not just slide belt over everything an tighten it up you need to remove clutch assembly / flywheel an there is no clearance between inner primary cover an teeth on flywheel to do so can some one give me some info on how to remove clutch assembly on this Sturgis model FXE i cant seem to find much info on how to pull it apart the most im finding is Harley Davidson discontinued this set up because it was a bad design the heat of the motor cooks the belt an if my son drives it like dad does his iron head sportsters the belt will need a dentist because it would be missing teeth in no time i would like to than yous all for any info on his any one has
