he puts his hands on either side of my face, and the room falls away. i have never gotten so lost in a kiss before. And then, the space between us explodes. my heart keeps missing beats and my hands cannot bring him close enough to me. i taste him and realize i have been starving. i have loved before, but it didn’t feel like this. i have kissed before, but it didn’t burn me alive. maybe it lasts a minute, and maybe it’s an hour. all i know is that kiss, and how soft his skin is when it brushes against mine, and that even if I did not know it until now, i have been waiting for this person forever. i never really liked my name much until i found out what it taste like when you sigh it into my mouth. when the corners of your lips burn my cheeks, i want to envelope every breath you take and turn your lungs into something that can support the weight of the love i have for you. making love was never about you and me in a bed. we made love whenever we held hands. whenever i could look at you and know that you were looking at me instead of through me is when i realized that those four years i spent waiting for you were the best four years of my life because Id rather have you hurt me every day until im old and smell like cheese than be without you and be alone and smell like cheese. life isnt worth it if you cant find love and I swear to whatever i believe in that when I found you i was okay with being wrapped up in your mind.
