he remnants of Odile will continue to bring flooding threats to the southern Rockies and West Texas today, while the Northeast will feel a touch of fall in the air. WeatherBug Meteorologist Todd Nelson has the latest in this exclusive WeatherBug National Outlook video. The remnants of Odile will continue trudging eastward, delivering another round of downpours to much of New Mexico, West Texas and eastern Arizona. Although these areas can use the rain to combat an ongoing drought, the intensity of the rainfall may result in more flash flooding. Southeastern Texas will also be under the gun for numerous afternoon thunderstorms, likely putting outdoor activities in jeopardy for cities such as Austin and Houston. The same front will also be draped across South Florida, where less numerous afternoon storms will be found. The only other weather hiccups today will be found in the Carolinas, Mid-South and northern Rockies, where isolated showers and storms may provide brief afternoon nuisances. The Pacific Northwest coast will also contend with isolated showers and associated cloud cover as a weak storm pushes onshore. Conversely, a large area of Canadian high pressure will deliver pleasant, sunny weather to the Northeast, Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. However, slightly cooler than average temperatures will be the side-effect in these regions. The coolest temperatures on Thursday will be found from northern New England to the Great Lakes, where highs may not escape the upper 50s. Warmer 60s and 70s will dominate from southern New England to the Mid-Atlantic and westward to the Upper Midwest. Highs in the 80s and 90s will be commonplace from the Southeast to the Plains, with well-above average 80s also taking up residence in the central and northern Rockies. The southern Rockies will remain in the 70s due to the expected rainfall and clouds, while the Southwest deserts will see temperatures jump into the 90s and low 100s. Meanwhile, the West Coast will remain cooler with highs generally in the 70s.
