hello all, this weeks film is Léon: The Professional, directed by Luc Besson. Its a 90s English-language French thriller film that I hope youll all enjoy especially b/c thisll be my last movie~ 😄 The film concerns Léon Montana (Jean Reno), a professional cleaner whos living a solitary life in New Yorks Little Italy working for a mafioso named Tony, whos operating under the Supreme Macaroni Company restaurant. Léon reluctantly takes in his 12 year old neighbor, Mathilda (Natalie Portman) after her family is brutally killed by a group of corrupt DEA agents led by the psychotic Stansfield (Gary Oldman). After moving in she quickly discovers that Léon is a professional assassin, working for Tony (Danny Aiello), a mob kingpin based in Little Italy. Wanting to avenge the death of her brother, Mathilda makes a deal with Léon to become his protégée in exchange for work as a domestic servant, hoping to learn the hitmans trade and take out the men who took her brothers life.
