hello everybody from your neighbor. I apologize that I do not have vietkey ( nen cho minh xin man phep su dung english). My name is Anna, I am living in North Dakota ( only 6 hours driving, i can reach to Canada border). The purpose of my post is giving out encouragement to some people who are currently studying to be a nurse or planning to study for this nursing career. ( I came to the U.S when I was 18 with my family and I knew nothing about the U.S and English, so I had to learn everything when i came here). I began sophomore year in high school when i moved to new country then went to college to study to become a nurse. It was extremely 4 tough years for me since English is clearly my second language and mostly all patients and classmates are Americans, so taking care of them and becoming their friends are not easy either. I studied every single day, volunteered in hospital and also in vietnamese community, and almost had NO LIFE at all when I chose to study for this nursing major. all my hard work in 4 years finally paid off, I graduated from nursing school. it was may 2014, it was still not done yet after i graduated since i still had the biggest exam in my life that was NCLEX- RN (national council licence exam for registered nurse). I studied endlessly during 2 months after my graduation ( i worked at summer camp for people with disability at the same time while i was studying) and had to sit 5.5 hours to take my test. I was about to pass out at the testing center after taking test because i thought i failed the test, but 48 hours later, I found out that I am officially a licensed registered nurse ( RN). Then it took me 1 month to find a job ( it is not easy to find a job for a new nurse) and now I am doing my adventure - my new life in North Dakota with my beautiful and nicest american roommate from California .( all my family is still living in Missouri). It was tough in school, and now its a scary year since I am a new nurse and I still struggle a lot during this transition year from student nurse to professional nurse. Nevertheless, nursing is very challenging but rewarding career to do. P.S Merry Christmass to all of you, may all of your dreams come true and if you need to study or anything that i can do when you study nursing, please pm me.
