here was a video i made towards the end of 2014 which was an introduction to Apologetics and questions related to effective methods i would utilize to provide a case for Gods existence. btw i made a slightly off explanation on the ontological argument because at the time i was still trying to grasp its concept. but how it should properly defined is like this: Anslem, an 11th century philosopher, proposed that an effective argument to prove the existence of God from reason alone, is by reasoning on the subject of ontology (the study of being). he made what is popularly known as the ontological argument in which he argued that we believe a being than which no greater can be conceived. And assuredly, that which nothing greater can be conceived cannot exist in the understanding alone: but can be conceived to exist in reality, which is greater. he also argued that if that than which nothing greater can be conceived exists in the understanding alone, the very being than which nothing greater can be conceived is one than which a greater can be conceived. But obviously this is impossible and Since existence is possible, and to exist is greater than to not exist, by definition God must exist. if God did not exist, then a greater being could be conceived, which is illogical since you cant have something greater than that which no greater can be conceived! in summation Anslem aimed to show that God cannot possibly exist in the understanding alone.
