heres an update on puppy Van Gogh aka Vinnie. A 4 - 5 month old puppy was abandoned in a cardboard box near Newarks Weequahic Park in sub-freezing temperatures. A man saw the box move and a nose poke out. He could not believe the puppy was even still alive. The good Samaritan brought the puppy to AHS and their Medical Department went to work immediately to save his life. The puppys ear had been ripped off completely and a gash went across his head. His front legs each were large gaping wounds and his back leg was fractured. The vet determined the wounds were not fresh; the puppy was most likely used by dogfighters for bait. They wanted to give this pup a fighting chance to live. Van Gogh - now Vinnie - has been doing just that - fighting to live. In spite of it all, he thumps his little tail when to say hello.
