heres one for you - ok, worthy cause etc, high end charity and all that, and to be honest, if they came to me direct Id probably do it. But Im not shelling out $5.99 per music demo (non member price) to Film Music Jobwire, to apply. They can damn well go pro bono on this as well, if everyone else is. FMN Job 5547 - Score Composer Needed ASAP For High-End Animated Short Film Producer is director of an international award-winning short animated film and pro bono director of a non-profit promoting a human rights treaty aimed at eradicating world hunger with the aid of international law, supported by both US Senators from California and many world-class experts in international law and human rights. Presentations have been given 5 times on Capitol Hill, and at Harvard, Yale, UCLA and other major universities. This new 6+ minute animated film, created with fine arts drawings and 3D CG animation with realistic and fantastical imagery, is intended to merit a first-class placement in the animation art rankings of the coming year, and, more importantly, to publicize the treaty principally through viral distribution on the web via YouTube in addition to film festival exposure. The film’s visuals are nearing completion, after several years work from a team of artists across the U.S. and abroad, some of whom were paid a modest wage and some, including the producer-director, who have worked pro bono on account of the non-profit, anti-hunger cause the film will serve and the widespread exposure the film is expected to enjoy. In keeping with the film’s necessities and history, the composer who scores the film will not be able to derive more than a token payment for this work—it has not been financed at the level of commercial projects, though production values will be artistically superior to most of those in numerous ways. Experience has proven that there are a good many people with real talent who are willing to work on this project for little to no financial compensation and for every position on the film thus far one or more such talents have come forward to bring the project to the brink of completion. There can be little doubt about how far and fast a film dealing with a major global social justice issue can spread after the 92 million YouTube viewings of the Kony 2012 video, and a prospective composer may compare this project with that one in terms of entertainment value or newsmaking and social justice potential. Seeking orchestral music styles. The film has elements of suspense, determination, inspiration, disciplined anger, regret, and unalloyed joy. Composers and musicians from all geographical areas will be considered. Compensation: Dear Members, while this project offers limited payment, we believe that the social justice aims of the project are worthy and the track record of the producer in the area of human rights is important. Deadline: ASAP (the sooner the better); December 30, 2014 unless selected before this date and the job is closed early. Max number of music files allowed per submission: 10 FMN Member Price: $1.99 per music file submitted FMN Non-Member Price: $5.99 per music file submitted
