hey all! let me apologize in advance for posting so many deer... I had alot of concept designs... my point is if you like what I do but one part more than the other im open to adjust my design. I have a couple different variety of deer ranging from the classic antlered deer to an older styled elk like deer. I chose a white stag for a couple of reasons. 1) the Old Norse and Celts believed the white stage was a harbinger of doom, and that some great law of nature had been broken (so thats got some for the intimidation factor) 2) the white stage morphed into a symbol of the eternal strive to become greater, it symbolized the quest for what is perceived to be unobtainable and the pursuit of knowledge. So it;s also got a noble scholarly side to it. I tried to keep the fields colors similar to the old heraldys, though I made them darker because i felt it looked a bit more rustic and medieval. the checkered pattern was intended to keep the colors from looking like plain blocks like seen in the old. one more note. if we do end up with my design, if theres any Photoshop wizards who can do a far superior job to myself, Im all for them prettying up my art.
