hey, folks...heres a little update: May 18, 2014 Status of Park Roads: Hwy 62:OPEN Hwy 62 to Park Headquarters:OPEN Park Headquarters to the Rim:OPEN West Rim Drive:OPEN to Discovery Point East Rim Drive: CLOSED Pinnacles Road: CLOSED North Entrance Road: CLOSED Status of Park Buildings: Dispatch: 8:00am-5:30pm OPEN Steel Information Center: (9:00-5:00pm) OPEN Post Office: (9am-3pm), (Closed 12:00am-1:00pm, Sundays & holidays) OPEN Rim Village Café and Gift Shop: (10:00am-5:00pm) OPEN Rim Visitor Center: CLOSED Sinnott Memorial Overlook and Exhibition Room: CLOSED Annie Creek Restaurant: CLOSED Annie Creek Gift Shop: CLOSED Crater Lake Lodge: OPEN Mazama Gas Station: OPEN –Cash Only Mazama Camper Store: OPEN Mazama Cabins: CLOSED Mazama Campground: CLOSED Lost Creek Campground: CLOSED Backcountry Camping: any overnight camping requires a backcountry permit. Please visit a Visitor Center or Crater Lake Dispatch for details. OPEN Crater Lake Trail Report- May 18, 2014 Front Country Trails: All trails are covered with approximately 4 feet of snow Back Country Trails: All trails are covered in snow with windblown areas. Be aware of current avalanche conditions. Pets in the Park: Pets on a leash of no more than 6 feet are allowed up to 50ft off a road, established parking area, developed campground, or designated picnic area, and on the following trails: Lady of the Woods Gray Back road, from Vidae Falls Picnic area to Lost Creek Campground Pacific Crest Trail Godfrey Glen Trail Please remember the following rules when bringing a pet on the above mentioned trails: Hikers with pets must yield by side stepping off trail and controlling pet when meeting hikers without pets or stock. PCT hikers must have pet leashed at all times when in the Park, including when camping. Please remember to pick up after your pet. PCT hikers can deposit pet excrement in the trash or bury it 6 inches deep and 100ft way from any water source, developed trail, or back country camp site.
