hey men, news of my campaign: - max difficulty - i play holland - in 127th turn (summer1763) - allied with UK & Hesse (Rhenania province) but also very close friends of Ottomans (alliance soon as 5th war with Spain start) and protector of Barbarians in Lybia. - exchange with UK, Sweden, Hesse, Spain, Prussia and Poland. - international news: Austria eradicated by Prussia in Munchen city, Prussia&Sweden old long war is ended, great perf of Prussia: they conquered Hanover, Brandenburg and Denmark after a great comeback on long therm: they was close of being eradicated around 1725 with only Saxe province owned. they are one of serious nations now, in 1763... (y) :p Poland is clearly best AI of the game, they just finished conquest, in last 2 turns, of south-italy+Sicilia (on Spain) & central-italy (by eradication of Vatican State). and their alliance with Prussia since 1720 +/- was a great match for both ! (also their alliances with Russia but with less impact. great deal was alliance between Poland&Prussia first...) Spain start to recover kind of power and rebuild navy but i survey them very closely and will engage the 5th war with them soon as i think its necessary. ...after end of our last 4th war in 98th turn(+/-?), i was worried and ready for a new one around +/-102th (1751) like it was for all 4 first wars... they never did and took +/- 25to30turns minimum to rebuild navy, repare their provinces (specialy France, Portugal & Spain) and continue their other wars... Spain is in tuff situation since 20turns: war with Poland, UK, Ottomans and seriously defeated 4 times by me since 1705, were harder to support for them... :p even the France agony since 95th turn (+/-) and conquest of France province + their victories on UK on american east coast but also their conquests of Morocco & Algeria provinces were not enough to maintain their overpower... Spain still a serious empire of my campaign but they lost a big part of their credits and fears on other nations. am not sure Spain would retry to attack me, except far later after long and massive rebuilding... (i will not let that happen of course) ;) even if, about land forces, they stay impressive with many complete armies... but their empire is really divided in many parts, their armies in will never can fight together and reverse events... :) Ottomans & Russia do an epic war since start of the game (with Sweden too by the north but Sweden is also seriously occupied against Prussia in central-europe... Ottomans, except those last 10 years with a quite naval war in mediteranean sea against Spain, mass all their efforts on this war vs Russia). in 1740s period, Russia did a great breakthrough until Persian province and pushed their advantage till occupie Anatolia for just 1 turn around 1751+/-... since that event, Ottomans did an incredible comeback and retake all provinces + conquer 6 other provinces along Caspian north coasts ! really impressive job ! (y) in the same period, Sweden succeed to occupied Moscow from Russians approximativly 5or6 turns but finished by being ejected and pushed back until Sweden province... (coz of russian reactions but also coz of prussian armies on the other side by denmark, etc. all of that was linked...) :) at one moment, just when Ankara felt down, i was close to bet on eradication of Ottomans in next 20turns... now, they overpower all Eastern Mediteranean Sea, control an empire until indian borders in the East and launched impressive offensive until north caucasian region in the North... :p great comeback ! (y) :D - my own events: i still in an incredible golden age since 25turns (just after my Greenwich crisis , never stoppped since that). in this last 25turns, my prestige points are more of 2 times higher (from 480 till 982 actually), i built a 3rd elite fleet (talked about in last post) and 3 complete standing land armies more !!! :D (y) (y) i have actually 6 standing armies and i will start building the 7th one around 1765 (+/-)... just need a break to finish buildings and have enough to pay them permanently.... :p i also think i will can have a 8th one later but i will see... for the rest, i launched a campaign to conquer Terre-Neuve & Inuit provinces (access to wild skins for my exchanges and make France more weaker are both first reasons...), it will be finished in 5 next turns... like i became one of high power nations, i started to manage & grow up (for bigger capacities in last 20years of the game) since 108th turn +/- and start of this golden age... i still have doubts about some challenges to succeed for final victory with holland specificities... particulary prestige points 1st place, for others (15 provinces owned + 9 historical provinces to conquer), it will be ok... i did a great job till here but nothing is assured, i will must accomplish conquest of India and resist on other fronts to succeed, it will be tuff ! :) but those 25turns golden age, till now, was incredibly peacefull and gratefull compared to pressions and survives challenges of before... :p i massivly developped my economy (all my infrastructures are 3/3 everywhere or near. and full of economic buildings&harbors(etc) are completed) and i can hope to have between 8&10 standing land armies for last decisive period of the campaign + the 1st navy of all nations and 90% of commercial profits for all nations together... it will be intresting and more strategic then the 1st 50 years was... 100 first turns was more close of survive and try to grow up, now i am a part serious actors and i must take count of realistic matters & values to reach my objectives... thats the reason TWs tittles are realistic for me: if u reach a certain step, interactions and ways as u play are so close of real geostrategy... (y) :) i enjoy that ! :D c u next... ps: screenshots are: 1) my 5th army conquering Terre-Neuve capital (forget name, sorry)... easy job ! :D 2) excellent view of strengh balance around my homeland in Western-Europe and big armies of my neighbours, ennemies & allies... (but also mines, of course) 3) actual situation of my conquest in the North... Nation of Inuits will fall down quickly :) 4&5) actual stats of balance account & exchanges details. (values start to be impressive...) ++ ;)
