hmmm. looking at the tour page thing above seems i staying round here for a while but just so you know, we are working on east coast and west coast and no coast tours..logan there at atomic in nashville is making a bunch of calls on my behalf so they coming together but theres a lot involved. i dont know what alls involved but i appreciate her effort. putting together the record release for april so we be seeing a lot of the country then.. as far as europe goes..nothing..no where..i used to get over there a lot but dont see it happening in 2015..remind me sometime to tell you how in amsterdam i made a wrong turn driving to the gig and ended up on some dock in this line of cars and trucks driving up a one way ramp onto a large tanker ship that i believe had a russian flag flying from the stern. i thought i would never see my family again. id love to get back as i met some nice people over there so maybe 2016. wha? what am i saying? my plan on going to san marcus last week to get my boots resoled fell thought, so to trying to plan to go to europe year after next is too much to ponder anytime soon. i know my limitations. oh well. hey. in case you didnt know, townes wrote the song rexs blues for my friend and owner of the old quarter in galveston, wrecks bell who was in a band with mickey white and townes would set in with them and sing redneck mother in pig latin..didnt see that coming did you? wasnt in the book bout townes but is true, music historians. also there was no audience when townes did the bobby bare tv show..just billy joe shaver, bobby bare, townes, the camera operators and me. i may have posted that before or just told some people..i dont remember which so if you did read it here before..there it is again! anyhow, just waiting for the master of the record to get back from joe gastwirt and the artwork to be finished by easy and as i wait, i doing a fred mcdowell woodshed..at least 3 hours straight today playing along with his records..just the little things he did that is so amazing like the monotonic bass thing with not playing the 3 in a 4/4 song. i know you gonna ask so ill try to explain it the only way i know how since i not a guitar teacher..its this: 1 and 2 and...and 4 and; so in open d tuning you just got the thumb thumping the low d on the one, the d string on two, nothing on the 3 and the low d on the four while the slide is doing its dirty nasty work on the g#, the a and the high d strings ). its hard but as our friend rilke said, anything great is hard. tomorrow at least 2 to 3 hours of doing it again. maybe tonite. yours truly, rwh
