hmmmmm......well after a discussion with my son, Paul, I decided to open and pitch the 12 quarts worth of green beans that I picked and canned when the bumble bee ran me out of the garden.............you see, when you know everything, or at least think you do, as in my case, it is difficult to think clearly......thats my excuse and I am sticking to it!!!!!!!!!!! I had not used my canner in a couple of years and for some reason when I went to put the pressure jigglier on, I put it on 5# in stead of !0# pressure..........couldnt figure out why my pressure wouldnt go up to 10# and argued with Roy that the seal around the lid and bottom was leaking, him insisting I needed a gasket around my lid like his Moms was. Mine is an All American that uses a metal to metal connection that only needs a little petroleum jelly around where the metals meet for a good seal. Then we argued about whether the lid was on even all the way around as it has 6 screw knobs on it that have to be turned down all the same distance around..........this time I used my bad shoulder as an excuse as to why it wasnt even............so to make this long story shorter, I might have been wrong.....Im not saying I was, but I could have been......maybe....or not.....anyway, decided I didnt want to die from some botulism poisoning because my beans didnt heat up enough, so I threw them out..........bummer.
