home defense & christianity: a (not so simple) question my pondering about defending myself and my property in respect to my beliefs have led me to a dilemma. i am hoping some of you will chime in or at least entertain the thought with me. quite simply put, here it is.... is it right for me, if i am "saved", to take someones life into my own hands, essentially determining their eternal fate? is taking someones life a justifiable act if i myself and whoever i am protecting have eternal security? If so, can anyone back it up with scripture and ...please... by not pulling passages out of context? I realize there are hundreds of variables that would play into this type of situation. some might feel like this is an over simplified question for such a complex situation. but i feel like there is a bottom line here that needs to be addressed if i or anyone else is going to be legitimately prepared to protect themselves and/or their loved ones.
