http: Anantapur: In a cinematic twist, the acid attack case took a new turn after police busted the reason behind the attack and allegation by the victim to avenge her former-lover. Vani, a final year degree student of Mudigubba village, was rushed to the hospital with acid burns on September 2 alleging her boy friend K. Raghava Naidu and K. Ramakrishna doused acid on NH-44 bypass road. Acting on her statement the police department registered cases under the Anti-rape Act against the alleged suspects on the same day. The state government had also initiated medical facilities for the victim who was treated at Hyderabad following 20 per cent burn injuries on hand, thigh and stomach regions. The Anantapur SP, S. Shyamasundar, had personally led the case following allegations against the Mudigubba sub inspector and several others in connection with the case. The case has been entrusted to Anantapur CCS inspector, A. Sreenivasulu. The police took the Raghava Naidu and his friend Ramakrishna into custody, based on the complaint by the victim, but were shocked to know the duo were at Bathalapalli flower market, about 25 kms away from Anantapur, at the time of incident. Police collected phone data of the duo and got confirmation that they were staying at Bathalapalli and not at all connected to the acid attack. deccanchronicle/130920/news-current-affairs/article/acid-attack-turns-revenge-drama
