For all sailors, seafarers, sea lovers, women and men who are passionate about the Mediterranean, that today are not far from this new and more limited area of ship’s position as compared to those of yesterday: 38° 41.015N - 20° 43.779E 38° 40.807N - 20° 49.608E 38° 34.392N - 20° 49.570E 38° 34.332N - 20° 44.043E. On June 4th, tomorrow, at 12.00 boats will gather for a denunciation flash mob and a legal, peaceful and bloodless demonstration with a landing and temporary symbolic occupation of a Ionian island, which is threatened by the sprawling sale of Mediterranean properties and speculative overbuilding. That island is not on sale. It belongs to the Mediterranean heritage, it belongs to everyone of us, sailors and sea lovers. It cannot just be sold and destroyed. On is long journey Mediterranea cannot sail along such emergencies without taking a stance. For this reason, on June 4th on the island shore its crew will exhibit a banner saying “This island is ours”, and it will do that together with dozens of boats which are already on their course for that area. Even if we were we on our own the protest would not be less valuable. Everyone needs to give a meaning to his/her own life by taking action in favour of what one loves. Love, passion, the requirements for safeguarding and preservation of the Mediterranean sea cannot wait any longer. All sailors are invited to join in the flash mob with their own boats. On June 4th the exact ship’s position will be given. On that very morning all boats can talk on channel 69 Vhf.
