https://facebook/haaretzcom/posts/10153005134596341 Haaretz appears to be a despicable publication whose primary purpose is to do the Islamists job for them by spreading disinformation and blood libels about Jews and Israel. Its latest angle is an attempt to compare Israelis -- both the Israel government and Defense Forces, and Israelis in general -- to the jihadist perpetrators of the January 7 Charlie Hebdo massacre. The publications supposed tribute to the Charlie Hebdo 12 was a stark advert reading: 10 journalists killed in attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris ... about 13 journalists killed last summer in attack on Gaza ... # JeSuisCharlie # JeSuisGaza. This was followed today by an article concerning Death threats to Haaretz journalists which were allegedly posted on a right-wing Israeli politicians Facebook Page. The examples given do not exactly qualify as death threats. Whether or not they are rhetorical, they could certainly be regarded as incitement, however. Haaretzs editors decided to use these comments as an opportunity to present another false equivalence, suggesting that the Israelis response to the Haaretz cartoon might be compared to the jihadists method of censoring cartoons of which it did not approve, i.e. murdering the cartoonists. Never mind the fact that the Haaretz tribute was not a cartoon or thought-provoking satire of any sort, it was simply a blood libel disseminated in the context of a continuing 1,400-year-long jihad against the Jews. The 13 individuals allegedly killed by the IDF during Operation Protective Edge were in a war zone and -- based on a superficial look at the incidents in question: ifj.org/fileadmin/images/Middle_East___Arab_World/Palestine_protest_050814/LIST_OF_13_JOURNALISTS_KILLED_IN_GAZA_050814.pdf -- might in at least some cases have been actively assisting in jihadist war propaganda. The full circumstances are not known, but very obviously no legitimate comparison can be made with the calculated murder, in broad daylight in peaceful Paris, of innocent members of the French public including journalists, cartoonists, policemen, a retired senior civil servant, a building maintenance worker, a shop assistant, a student, a retired senior executive and a sales executive, of variously Jewish, Christian, Muslim and secular backgrounds. To attempt to make such a comparison is, as I say, to do the Islamists job for them.
