The turtle integrated the ideas of green hotel management. This turtle not only has a beautiful appearance, it also serves different functions to the hotel area (and even the nearby areas are benefited) There are various functions in the Turtle, including Sewage treatment, Shopping, Dining, Education, Gardening and etc. All these can relate to the main hotel building. The turtle is placed next to the bridge at the north side of the resort. The head is facing to the west-south side. • The Construction • Head: • Treated Sewage releasing from the turtle’s mouth. • The mouth can open so that air can come in and out, so as the hind of the turtle to create convention, which helps cooling in summer. • Bar& Restaurant with lake view • Indoor with glass wall, Outdoor landscape area at Turtle eyes. • The water used is fully generated from the sewage treatment • Food scrap processer that transform food waste to fertilizer for use in the farming and gardening, reducing waste in the whole structure. • Body: • ETFE Clad Structure building up the Turtle Shell • ETFE pillows that are only 0.2 mm (1/125 of an inch) in total thickness. • Allows more light and heat penetration than traditional glass, able to seeing the inner structure from the outside. • The middle area of inner structure is left empty except a lift connecting each floor.
