https://youtube/watch?v=40QWMOUkeaM Alright, now we come down to real film that its for today. This is not just the seventh film that used the 1984 WDC logo, but it was also the last film that officially used it too, or at least the last sales tape to use it, that is. This was released on October 7th, 1987, and this broke a record for the most preorders of a film on VHS, at around two million, and it when it was released, it sold 3.5 million copies. Of course, the record would be broken in the 90s, but for the time being in 1987, that was pretty impressive. This followed its December 1986 theatrical re-issue, and from this films VHS release and onwards, all films would go to VHS after the previous theatrical re-issue, which was the plan starting here. Naturally, since it was released close to the holiday season, this too started a big Christmas promotion with this as the head title of the whole deal. So, the next film in our 30th anniversary tribute of the 1984 WDC logo and the series itself is the last known film to ever use it, and thats Lady and the Tramp. Nice to see it played early this year and to see it again, after having only one appearance last year. Hopefully that changes this year. Now this is a good film, and a classic, as well. Though its not the best of the bunch, its still really good. Quite frankly, most romance films should learn to take notes from here. This film is just all about a couple in love, and I think thats all this film really needs. Theres no misunderstanding, theres no straight up villain, and none of the other stupid hollywood cliches you normally see in other films arent present either here. Like Bambi or Old Yeller, just showing somebody living life is all you need here, and thats what we got. Not a great film, but its a good old-fashioned classic film. Enjoy!
