Idealism is the view that reality emerges from consciousness; matter reduces to a mental substance (material things are ideas as it were). And the best thing is that you dont need to be familiar with Quantum Mechanics at all to understand it. One of my heroes was an idealist: Jonathan Edwards. When I learned that he was an idealist, I was ecstatic. Edwards lived in the late 18th century-and just DEDUCED it (he was that much of a boss). He was both a theologian and a philosopher in his own right. Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher, was also an idealist.
