Heres my Thought of the Day--The Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord is about the wonder of the the Christ, the Divine Logos, coming into the world, and along with Annunciation a huge thing..a marker of the Triune Gods love for us. Christmas is about the kids, and the smiles and joy on their faces. (Im not articulate enough to make this as clear as I would like). But, as a grown up I have to say this is not a secularization of the day. Rather, out desire and longing to bring joy and wonder to the littles puts us in the same place as God the Father, when he sent his Son to bring us the joy of redemption. So with the financial and time sacrifices of the Holiday, we, in a small way, can personify the boundless generosity of Divine Love. Its our Job.
