They say this car protects you (via driving assists and driver warning devices) leaving you free to drive. Which apparently in this commercial is thinking about everything but driving. And thats the problem, the idea that driving entails what is essentially daydreaming while you teleport to your destination in a magical box that does that pesky operating the vehicle part for you. Maybe the takeaway here is that driverless cars (something that will almost certainly come to pass in the next half century) are truly the best method to achieve the safest roads. But until then, as a person driving a vehicle, one should realize that they are more simply operating a potentially deadly machine. I feel like anymore people compare driving to presetting an oven. You perform a couple actions and this appliance will deliver the desired outcome. In reality driving should be compared to operating a forklift or some construction site equipment. To do it properly, one needs to pay attention to what they are doing, its not daydreaming time. Im not going to sit here and say that 100% of the time Ive been behind the wheel Im focused only on driving, but to advertise the idea that well, Im getting in my car, time to think about some emails and who I need to talk on the phone with is flat incorrect. Anyway, if youre still with me at this point, sorry for the lengthy rant. tl;dr this commercial is bad and the people who made it should feel bad
