https://youtube/watch?v=KUdHIatS36A As a relative of NYPD, the military system (cousins, uncles and aunts who served, and a dad who works for Lockhead Martin), and someone who grew up in almost all white communities, someone who grew up in nothing but white rurality, someone who went to a white private college where my only close non-white friend was used on the cover of our school promotional information to show how diverse it was this video best describes whats going on in the American criminal justice system. Moreover, the only way I knew anything of non-white people as a youth was going to Kennedy Fried Chicken late night in Binghamton, gangsta rap, and televsion until I lived in London, England and later moved to Baltimore, MD and came to know the contexts from which these people live. To see the ways the general public looked at and treated my new and current acquaintances was astounding. Anyway this video still defeats anything I can come up with...race is always involved in the action and reaction whether we like it or not. To say I dont see race in a society completely organized around it socially, culturally, economically, politically, and in the criminal justice system is to still believe in santa claus. It seems like magic because it is. The facts are our criminal justice system and our country sees race even if individuals dont, and the numbers bear it out.
