https://youtube/watch?v=Toe_UKSQgEw This album is strangely sophisticated. It still sticks to certain Bowie-isms and marks a departure from Enos art-for-arts-sake approach. Tony Visconti serves as a bridge between the Berlin trilogy and the mainstream monster Bowie was about to become. The lyrics are abrassive, self-deprecating. They announce and celebrate the death of the Thin White Duke -and who the hell would know Bowie was about to transform into an MTVs darling?-. The performance browses through Bowies portfolio of personas and the detached, cynical, Scott Walker-like crooner he would embrace after his Lets Dance-era. There are moments of Hard Rock savviness, codas to his soul experiments encompassed with an unusual sincerity in is words. I cant remember who said that David Bowie was a Lego kit and that we would never know his true form. This album is a pivotal catalog of what he did before and what he was about to do. The many possibilities of Mr. Jones.
