A group of turbaned males stood along the sides wearing the various Cherokee clan colors, blue, red, purple, yellow, and green. Gabriella looked down at her magnificent gown of purple and gold with its low bodice, as a light waltz tune played. Iktomi wore a blue tanned outfit with white fringes, edged in beaded red, black, yellow and white zigzag lightening patterns which were interspersed with the Thunderbird image. His feet were covered in beaded red and blue moccasins, while his two braids were replaced with free flowing hair and eagle feathers. The song, which began in the background, signaled to the dancers to begin their dance. They danced elaborate dance steps, twirling and spinning as the ballroom music continued. “Come, my wincincala, show me how a mortal dances among the stars.”
