Before this I never noticed how the character of west coast swing not just encourages but /requires/ that the lead follows what the follow leads. Their attentiveness to the music and to each other is chills-inducing. We already encourage leads to react to what follows initiate... and follows by definition react to what leads initiate... so is there even a real leader and follower in a dance anymore? If not, then why the heck do people even care about gender? >.
